Thursday (3/14) and Friday (3/15) were our first really nice, warm, days in 2019. Here in northeastern PA it was in the 60s-70s. Some of our native herps made their first appearances. I was able to get pics of a couple of painted turtles and the head of a massive snapping turtle that are residents in a local swamp. Friday night the spring peepers were singing. I'm excited for spring!!

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.There's not a lot that I miss about Pa, but those warm spring days are one of them. Usually Eastern garter snakes and Northern water snakes would be out sunning themselves. The ponds and creeks would have increased fish activity as well.
