Alright Insectra, here we go. This is the cocoon I found over the winter next to the house. It was in a barberry bush next to a flowering crab tree. I am sure that was the host tree. We found a cocoon a few years ago in that tree, but it seemed to have been killed by a parasite. No other host trees proximate to where I found it. What say you?
