I found an ant mimic jumping spider today. I spotted it when I was bug hunting with my daughter. This is only the 3rd one I've seen in my life, but they are pretty much my favorite. Mostly because they combine my two favorite insects.. ants and jumping spiders. They're neat because they really do mimic ants. They have evolved to look like them and act like them. They'll pick up their front legs and wave them around and look like an ant with 6 legs and 2 antennae. If you're not paying special attention, you'd most likely mistake it for an ant at first.

Posted by InsectraA cute grey treefrog (Hyla versicolor) that I found in my birch tree, this afternoon. His camouflage was great and I only discovered him when I heard him calling.
