Got my little rescue butterfly all set up for the night in his own little tent! (Repurposed cat carrier) I don't think I should put him outside. Tried earlier and saw a bird eyeballing him so I had to bring him back in. His wings are shot so I guess the best I can do is try to keep him comfortable. Not sure how long they live.
you do understand ths isnt going too end well don't you?
Ha ha yeah. But he was just so desperate to live when I picked him up off the wet sand I couldn't just leave him. Not sure how long they live but I'll keep him safe until then.
@Remi its a lovely thing to do. i just didnt want you to get upset. some males have no mouth parts to feed so your talking days if not less. butterflies and moths spend nearly all there lives as eggs and caterpillers .
@LeighShelton yeah, it's taken some sugar water I gave it. I'll feel bad when he goes but I know they don't have long. He hung out on my hand for over an hour while I walked on the beach. Then didn't want to get off when I got him to a safe spot so I brought him in to try to feed him.
@Remi its a lovely getsture xxx

Posted by InsectraA cute grey treefrog (Hyla versicolor) that I found in my birch tree, this afternoon. His camouflage was great and I only discovered him when I heard him calling.
