My Nhandu tripepii (Brazilian Giant ) Champagne is finally out and about. It’s been a strange winter and she had been hiding most of it, unusual for her. They can grow 7-9 inches. She’s getting there.

What do you feed them or do they feed themselves ?

I feed them live crickets.

I’m not sure why words keep disappearing off my post. But she’s a Brazilian Giant blonde.

fluffy teddy spider 🙂

She reminds me of an orangutan. These guys have the most irritating urticating hairs of all species.

@graceylou, had to look up "urticate". well, that's not very teddyish. but...do have orangutans also nettle hair? 🙂

She's beautiful. How long have you had her?

I think I got her as a juvenile in the fall of 2015. She was may be 2 inches.

@graceylou do you keep her shed exoskeletons? A friend has his rose knee's on display, and it's pretty cool.

@SurvivorSteph Yes I do keep them when I can. Some fall apart when I try to take them out.

Impressive! She looks healthy.

Her abdomen is a bit small. She hadn’t eaten much over winter. But she seems healthy.
