One of the Syrphids, or Hover Flies. Their larvae look like boogers and eat aphids.
Adults visit many flowers and are minor pollinators.
Favorite nectar and pollen sources are members of the Carrot Family (Apiaceae). Syrphids are good to have around, along with Lacewings, Lady birds and Braconids wasps

                                        I was thinking Africanized bee, at least I was while we were chilling together
isn't it great how the critters camouflage for survival? i've seen them around a fair bit, never knew exactly what they were, but always secretly called them fake wasps
