Spots and stripes: grape leaffolder (Desmia funeralis), the scallop shell (Rheumaptera undulata), harnessed tiger moth (Apantesis phalerata), Ailanthus webworm moth (Atteva aurea), and the hickory tussock moth (Lophocampa caryae).

Finally, a site for an odd duck like me! Every year I vote which is the coolest bug of the season in my garden. Last year it was a Dark Form Tiger Swallowtail.
The year before, a Wasp Mimic Mantisfly. A dead ringer for Polistes!
This year who knows?
