Phooey on the claim that cats bring their prey to us because they think we can't hunt or as a love offering.
My cat catches some kind of big moth every night brings it in the house plays with it a while and it eats it in front of me. I'm actually thankful he doesn't give it to me but he's not doing it for me he's doing it for his own entertainment.
Our cat Whiskers caught a hummingbird a while back. He didnt' bring it to us, but took it away and, we assume ate it.,
Still we were proud. Hummingbirds are really quick. We are assured that if anything ever happened to us, where he had to try to survive on his own, he'd be just fine.
