Well, I ran out of socks, so today is laundry day. I found it is really difficult, but possible, to unmake a bed while the cat is sleeping on it. I basically untucked all the corners and pulled the sheets through under the comforter. Whiskers knew something was up, but after the sheets were clear from under him he just went back to sleep.

Nope, I have limits, I go out of my way to make their lives easier, I am willing to move them to another spot which they will just get up and leave. So mostly I just shoo them away and proceed with my plans

My cat wasn't restrained to house only living so she always wanted out when I started moving.
Yes…I’ve regularly not “unmade” the bed…but made it …whilst either one of my cats were sleeping in it. Once or twice quite successfully. They didn’t stay asleep, but just opted to allow me to push and pull the bedclothes into shape around them rather than jumping off the bed!

Yeah, often when getting up the cat will stay on the bed, and I have to make the bed while he is laying on it. I just pull and straighten the sheet and comforter around him. Luckily he sleeps on top of the comforter, so I can get it done without disturbing him much. I have have to go back later and straighten out a few wrinkled on top once he leaves for breakfast, but he doesn't seem to mind my making the bed while he is on it.
