Max was high on catnip and also wanted some more of my bratwurst. He was FIV+ when I adopted him, and did just fine for eight years. Then he started having kidney problems and finally some cancer metastasized on his jaw... things went downhill pretty fast from there. We said farewell several years ago, so no need for condolences. He was an especially good boy, though.
Good that you had some years to enjoy his company.
Family is Family and should always be remembered as such...
