All of the cats relaxing post company...

A visiting relative just left, taking their ill behaved dog with them after spending a week at our home. The cats will be VERY relieved. I hate that the visiting pet comes in where my pets live, making things unpleasant for all. To complain or insist on change will cost me the relationship with my relative though. (Other relatives have tried and are now estranged).

The cats are no worse for wear, thank goodness.

Do any of you have to stomach similar circumstances? I mostly like dogs, but some courtesy should not be asking too much!

Ok, rant over... please carry on. (;

I love most pets, but some are real turn-offs.

My brother came to visit when my son was little with his Dalmatian. That dog destroyed quite a few of my sons stuffed toys, some kind of pricey, and he never offered to fix or replace a thing. I don’t see him much, so I didn’t say anything, but it irked me.

Don't bring your pets.
That's the rule at our house.
And if you object to cat fur on your clothing, or you're allergic to cats, just don't come.

The owner knows that people dislike the dog and refuses to visit any who have dared to complain, including her own son. She thinks anyone who demands that a dog modify its behavior is in the wrong.

I close the cats up in our bedrooms to protect them. That does nothing to reduce the dog's urination or people-aggression, though.

One cat greatly enjoys ambushing and attacking the dog, terrorizing it through the doggie door to the basement where this guest sleeps. The dog is quite afraid, which is amusing, I'll confess. (;

I agree with you. If your pet is terrible, you need to recognize that and work to separate them from other pets or people they might cause harm to. My mother in law had a dachshund that was a biter and would lash out at some people unprovoked. He was always put in his crate during family gatherings. He was a mystery though. He always liked me and my husband.

For the most part the 3 dogs are accepting Kittie into the fold. The bad thing is Kittie has discovered the doggie door!!! She is to young to go out yet.

Oh no!

Posted by Dave375Look at this beautiful cat. Only thing that's keeping me sane. I get unlimited attention whether I desire it or not.
