My 17 year white fluff ball part maine coon, he is big but his kidneys are failing he has about 10% function left. I have been feeding him a special diet but he has no teeth so I have to mash it by hand and set it up so when he tounges it, he can get it in his mouth. He is not in any pain, that is a comfort. But I am ok , I am doing everything I can and that's all you can do. To the other people out here who are missing their pet, or about to loose one, just make sure they know they are loved or if gone remember all the things that made them special to you and you will never loose them because they will be with you in your heart. Grief counseling is not out of the question. Set up a time to talk about your pet once a week, just like they do for humans. It has helped me as I have gone through this several times. I wish they lived as long as us but I will always have my pet with me. To all of you I am sorry for your loss....
