We now have to close the ct door at night. The raccoons have found out how it works!

Was awakened one night by something flying by near my face . By the time I had gotten the lights turned on , the cat had caught a bat . Put a box over it , folded the box flaps under and took it out side . On another occasion , discovered an owl in the house , which the cats totally ignored . the conservatory is a two story room , so I solicited help from a neighbor , who caught it and we released it out side . Very quiet in flight .

One night after screening Hugo (3d) in my downstairs theater a guest screamed "It's a bat!" when she reached the top of the stairs. She quickly left out the front door. Took me twenty minutes to catch the bat and set if free in the front yard. Poor thing. It must have gotten in through one of the fireplaces. It was really scared as I trapped it. The trick is to use a light gage garbage sack as bats can't detect thin plastic.

I want the story!

Like the night my sister found possums hanging from her chandelier and walked back upstairs -without a midnight snack - and said "You have to handle possums in the morning," to her husband.

My sister said they were young raccoons. She said she saw what must be the mother the next day. The mother would be too big to fit through the cat door.

Anyway, my sister said she woke up to the cats hissing and gorwling, and saw a raccoonjust inside the doorway., she chased it how and saw a second one just outside.

@snytiger6 Apparently Raccoons like cat food. lol

I found out when I was doing TNR at my former home. I caught both a Racoon one night - and a Skunk. (By then I'd gotten smart and rigged the trap to open from a distance!). Plus it was really happy to be fully of sardines. So it didn't spray. (Thank you skunk!).
