Another reason we need more powerful unions.

Unions are a demonstration that we need a social fabric to support all of us. I admit to supporting some more libertarian principles (i.e. privacy and personal freedoms to some extent), but the self-made person idea has never been true. Here's a funny, but interesting perspective on how "rugged individualism" would go just a bit too far.
Okay, so I'm not a millennial, but good point!! Personally I think Ronald Reagan really turned the tide against sensible wealth distribution when he fucked with the tax brackets and started skewing things dramatically back in favor of the rich, like they didn't already have it great. Until then, wealth growth in the nation was at least somewhat benefiting a broader swath of the population. His administration set a tone that has only been followed by a mad race toward more and more greed by those who already enjoy all the benefits, and at the expense of the rest of us. Then they have the sheer balls to blame economic distress on the poorest people. Job creators, my ass! Fucking Republicans!!!
You know it's bad when wealth inequality is worse than the 1920's. Carter did start the race to the bottom with tax cuts on a small scale but you're right it exploded under Raygun.
