You know, the Russians are STILL very actively planting fake "grass roots" social media messages, and they are doing it on the left as much as on the Right. The aim is to poison our entire political discourse so that we are incapable of finding and constructive broad consensus anymore. Let's not give Putin such easy satisfaction.

Putin is doing what is best for himself and Russia. Donald Trump ended with him in the pockets of Putin They did mess with the Electoral College and gave Trump the presidency, at a cost, Keep in mind that Hillary Clinton actually won with 3 million votes more that Trump. How is it possible that Trump can win under such circumstances. The Electoral College is a spent tool designed to elect Republicans when they do not have enough votes. It should be abolished and we should revert to one man- one vote. Than would make elections more fair. What happen with Trump was a bloodless coup 'd 'etat.
So just like that, Elizabeth Warren sank from Darling of the progressives to just another litmus test reject. I wonder who DOES get your vote when your preferred "dream candidate" doesn't make it to the ballot. This holier-than-thou ideological purity contest is indeed a large part of why Trump is president. Our democracy is under dire threat, but it is not from the extreme right; it is also because the nation is so extremely polarized that those most proud of their political activism become primed to turn against their own at the drop of a hat.

It is so much easier to slam politicians wholesale and name-call people who disagree with you than to constructively promote the ideas of specific politicians you like the most. THAT would be helpful.
Your approach guarantees that the collectively left of center remain splintered enough to allow ACTUAL fascists to run the country. Nicely done, you!

To defend my position: I am a lifelong Roosevelt Democrat - the forerunner of Democratic socialism. I'm 62 years old, a privileged, middle class white guy. Bernie was my dream candidate and I gladly supported him for in his successful Michigan primary. And yet, I gladly voted for a candidate, Hillary Clinton, who I viewed as flawed, but was so far above the only other candidate that had any chance of winning. A thought experiment I've tried is to imagine how the political chasm would have manifested itself if Clinton had won instead of Trump. It's not pretty in my mind.
