How is it possible that Trump can win under such circumstances. The Electoral College is a spent tool designed to elect Republicans when they do not have enough votes. It should be abolished and we should revert to one man- one vote. Than would make elections more fair. What happen with Trump was a bloodless coup 'd 'etat.

To defend my position: I am a lifelong Roosevelt Democrat - the forerunner of Democratic socialism. I'm 62 years old, a privileged, middle class white guy. Bernie was my dream candidate and I gladly supported him for in his successful Michigan primary. And yet, I gladly voted for a candidate, Hillary Clinton, who I viewed as flawed, but was so far above the only other candidate that had any chance of winning. A thought experiment I've tried is to imagine how the political chasm would have manifested itself if Clinton had won instead of Trump. It's not pretty in my mind.
