Has anyone ever had back of knee pain? What did you do about it? I've been walking 6-9 miles a day and I pulled something back there. I watched a video on how to massage it, but it only works a little bit and then the pain and tightness comes back full throttle. Still got my walk on this morning. I channeled David Goggins and did 9 miles yesterday, 6 miles this morning. Wish this pain was gone though.

I had patellar tendonitis when I was in Iraq from over training and having to wear so many pounds of gear all the time (flak jacket, rifle, ammo, etc). I couldn't do much to remove the workload there but had to do some rehab when I got back. Not increasing your workload suddenly helps. Ice it. Anti inflammatories can help as things don't heal with inflammation present (they aren't just for pain). Take it easy. Proper warm up and cool down. Stretching. Make sure you have a balance in muscles. My tendonitis was caused, or at least worsened from muscle imbalances. I think my quads were over developed.

@dani2382 I definitely don't know if it would solve the problem entirely (fingers crossed it does) but sure would help! Keep us posted!

I find the best thing for long term knee health, keep running every day. Always stretch out once your wamed up. Run on soft ground. Research supports this.

I have had the same problem.

Maybe somewhere in your thigh or lower leg, a muscle has clamped down on a nerve in at least one place. Maybe you have many places with petrified muscles, or muscles that have seized up due to forceful but undirected body movements which have caused muscles to tighten up to cause circulatory and nerve problems.

Posted by SilviaParkI had my first triathlon in Sunday, an indoor USATri60. Lots of room for improvement, but I'm just a beginner swimmer, and haven't taken my bike on the road yet :)
