Actually, not. It all starts with nutrition, and the athletes I know are keenly aware of what they eat. The higher level athletes I know and know about are maniacal about it.
Yes that is what eat and train means. They don't diet to lose weight.
@bobhoff59 Understood, but I think we both agree they don't just eat. It is part of the process, and thoughtful. I am recovering from surgery and can't wait to get back in the gym. Of course, I am here in the first place because of too much intensity for 63 year old me. My right quadriceps tendon tore, ripped actually, no warning at all. I dropped like a stone. Ouch......
@Mitch07102 Definitely mindfull about what they are eating. Believe me as an endurance athlete, nothing is more important the fueling my body both during training and competition.
