My university has a treadmill & bicycle desk in the library. Currently using the bike desk for the first time: a little noisy, but an easy way to stay active while studying. I don't trust myself on the treadmill. Even though there's a max speed you can attain, I am likely to take one wrong step & end up on the floor!
What are some ways you guys stay active throughout the day?
That's really great that you can do that AND study at the same time. I'd definitely come off the treadmill if I tried that lol. Great that you're keeping active!
I have a sit/stand desk at work with a motor so it's very easy to adjust the height. I don't stand for more than an hour at a time though. I also try to walk during the day. I go to the gym before work and that's my main form of exercise.
I am a cubicle dweller so there isn't really a way to incorporate much physical activity into my work. I try to stick to my exercise routine (I have a home gym). I could take breaks and go for walks, but meh. LOL!
I take the stairs up and down several times a day during the working hours...to check the mail, take down the mail, run to the bank, go to lunch, etc. We encourage our employees to move away from their desks at least once an hour...stretch, walk around the building, etc. We also have a gym on the first floor that some people use at lunch. Active employees are more alert and energetic, so the few minutes they take are nothing compared to what we get back in productivity.
Good for you for trying to work activity into your daily life. Starting young to build good habits is great! Congrats for being aware of this.

Posted by Aeonia25850Just for a laugh! Right now I'm pushing these legs of mine hard with the weights and on the bike and am seeing good results.

Posted by SilviaParkI had my first triathlon in Sunday, an indoor USATri60. Lots of room for improvement, but I'm just a beginner swimmer, and haven't taken my bike on the road yet :)
