Why the U.S. Should Provide Universal Basic Income
[theatlantic.com]
why not? just put the money in everyone's account. only one problem:there is no money to put in anyone's account.
but there's debt. let's just see how much debt can be transferred before the entire house of cards collapses.
I wonder what premise the first statement of this piece ‘America is the richest civilization in history’ bases it’s premise upon.
Any ideas, anyone
I think it's based upon the imaginary monetary system which is prevalent these days.
@Philip21 So its all pretend then!
i would base it on the fact that the US has the world reserve currency.
when things start to collapse financially the USD will be currency that the holders of weaker currencies will turn to. this is all based on the strongest military.
as the former president of france (De Gaulle) said: the US has a totally unfair trade advantage bc it has the world reserve currency. to counter this unfair advantage france bought gold with their USDs. france bought so much gold that it prompted the nixon administration to take the USD off the gold standard. since then gold has outperformed every other asset class.
It ignores the debt.
