Well its Victoria's birthday celebrated in the former dominions, such as the Dominion of Canada. Victoria was a glutton, and shoveled it in as fast as she could. She was 5 feet tall with a 50 inch waist at her death. Clowns come in all sizes, and all positions of status.
it wasn't that she was really fat; she was just a couple ft too short.
And it's soon to be our former POTUS birthday, who also had girth issues...as well as reading ones..
Hoover was a big surprise.
And even with the photo hacked! LOL
What a disgusting post…I really think it’s quite uncalled for Keith, unworthy of you. Fat shaming is not ok today, nor is it acceptable even when that person has been dead for 121 years! You are assuming she was greedy and that she was a clown…on what evidence ? That is the same kind of remarks we hear all the time about women in particular..she’s fat so she must be greedy!
Victoria was born into her high status and even if you are a through and through Republican, you cannot blame a long dead woman for her position as the figurehead of an Empire and for being part of a dynastic system that due to an accident of birth she was born into. Rail against the institutions and the monarchy if you like, and campaign for its demise too, but history is history and cannot be changed. Vitriol like that which you display against a long dead symbolic figure is unproductive, and will only harm you in the long term. Campaign for Canada to stop celebrating her birthday if you want to do something productive with your anger.
Good day Marje, but while you are at it---call the fire department; I'm being burned at the stake. I don't recall saying anything about being slim in some obsurd fantacy. To get it straight, I could lose a stone myself. Angela Merkel is hardly Hollywood slim, but she was almost the only adult at the Europian Union table.
Historians, many, have commented about Victoria's gluttony- shovelling it in as fast as she could. Burn them at the stake too. Food is an enjoyment; 'kinda' nice with conversation and laughter. Being a glutton is a vulgarity; one commited by the lowest, unouth plebeian wretch. And reality is reality, whether we like it or not.
From what I have read, Albert found it an inconvenience to eat because it took time out of his busy itinerary
