Using an employer provided counselor. Anyone had any experience with this? Good bad ?

Don't worry about what you tell the therapist. It is quite literally illegal for that therapist to tell your employer anything you tell them. All therapists require confidentiality agreements that are two-way binding agreements when you sign up for them. Unless you tell your therapist you're going to go to work and shoot everyone or thoughts of killing people that is the only way they can break the confidentiality agreement. I fully support going to therapy. Not all therapists are effective butt sometimes just talking makes a huge difference. Good luck

I haven’t had to have a therapist since the court forced me to when I took custody of my son. I don’t really know how to talk to people so therapy doesn’t work for me.

I’ve had experience with seeing a therapist through my employer. It’s been mostly very positive. I did have to remind her about my atheism on 2 occasions (and told myself if she slipped again I would find another therapist). I live in the south, so I pretty much expected the therapists to be religious.

Good luck, I hope you find the help you need.

no experience. I follow my own counsel whatever the results.

I already know where I am and don’t plan on changing!

Financially it's a plus, depending on insurance.

Years ago I required a psychologist due to workplace trauma and was given a Worker's Comp doctor who diagnosed me with PTSD. The slippery slope is what exactly is "confidential" to not get back to employer when being assessed. It all worked out to my benefit though.

Good luck.
