Giving away gardening books:
I am not giving up on gardening, but my eyesight is fading ( from diabetes), so instead of donating the books to the library towards an uncertain fate, I would like to offer them here.

  1. Wayside wildflowers of the Pacific Northwest by Dee Strickler, stunning photos and excellen informatio.
  2. Gardening with Herbs for Flavor and Fragrance by Helen Morgenthau Fox., originally published in 1933. Only a few drawings, but extensive information and lore.
  3. Trowel and error, 700 SHortcuts , Tips and remedies for the gardener , by Sharon Lovejoy. lots and lots of great drawings, excellent tiips and shortcuts.
  4. 500 Popuare roses for the American Gardener - gorgeous photographs, great information.
  5. Second Nature by Michael Pollan - my favorite contemporary writer. No picturers but well researched subjects and engaging writing.

I am not selling these books but hoping to find a good home for them
( Is that allowed, Group Mothers and Dads?) I'll await your decisions on that.

I joined just to share this video that I found wonderful... I hope you all enjoy it as well... Not sure if this the complete one, but it's a start. If it's not, do research this guy and see about his life... Very wonderful story. The life and work of Ryan Gainey.

Giving away books is fine. I don’t care even if you want to sell them. As long as you aren’t trying to make a business out of it. And I would be very interested in the herbs book. Sounds like something I would really enjoy reading

I've been going through this , as well . Had my real lenses replaced with acrylic some years back , then started having laser treatments - at least 14 on each eye . When they reached an end to that they started poking needles into my eyeballs . At one point I had started getting the large print books , and was afraid I wouldn't b able to read at all in a short while , but although I still wear glasses , I am back to reading regular print .

Yes, I had many many laster treatments over the years, also lens replacement. One eye was disabled by neuropathy, laser scars are in the field of vision. Reading text is becoming a real chore, so I now rely on Books on CDs and in real life use all of my other senses. I have been a collector of books all my life but now have to say good bye to them.

@Spinliesel I so empathize ! When I was preparing move here , my ,"little," brother phoned our mother and told her to tell me , I had to get rid of all my books . I told Mom , the house I just bought has a separate library . I'm not getting rid of any of my books . She and I both laughed .
