The mild autumn leaves still a lot of colour in the garden, and now the winter flowers are starting too. With Chrysanthemum, Iris foetidissima in berry, some climbing roses still going and winter jasmine just starting.

We had a light freeze a couple weeks back, but I still have a few brave roses. I cut these this morning from their super gangly autumn bushes.

Wow! You're in the right climate to have a garden. I just cleaned off all my dahlias after digging them out of the ground last week. Placed them in boxes and stored them away until spring. I still have some winterizing to do around the yard.
The important thing is our oil tank is full with plenty of heat to keep us cozy.
This photo of our backyard was taken a few minutes ago.

It must be nice to live where there are good clear seasons though. Most of my autumn work is done now except I still have to wrap my tree ferns.

Oh! So a longer garden season gives more work with less downtime. I get what you mean about a clear cut off of the season. I have one deadline to meet, cover a couple plants, dig the dahlias then I'm done until spring.

Iris foetidissima, I had to look that one up

Stinking Iris in other words, the flowers are a little palid, but the berries are good, and it does not really stink that i can tell.
