Japanese iris are fussier than other iris but worth the extra effort.
The problem with gardening; how do you pick just one flower? Do all gardeners suffer from the same problem or just me?
Happy gardening everyone!

Oh, beautiful frills and colorations - they're like little prom dresses on stems!

@tinkercreek
A prom dress and natural beauty both of which are sexy and exciting.

I planted some 15 years ago and the 1st time they bloomed brown instead of lilac and purple.I decided to ignore them and hoped they would just die and then they often didn't bloom at all.Last year 3 or 4 of them bloomed a nice purple color but the others didn't bloom at all.

I should have dug them up and replaced them with something better but I am a very lazy gardener.

Push soms fertilizer spikes in around the croms and remember to water then .

@ Lorajay
The local grower was someone I could trust. With Japanese iris, we would order what we wanted and pick it up in the spring or buy what he had already potted up. If it wasn't what we ordered after it bloomed he would give us the correct one the following spring at no charge.

I pretty much suffer from the same, "just a few more" problem.

@glennlab
I'm sure I have room for one more but I had to stop at 10.
