@Green_Soldier71 We all have been burnt, however when I look back at it, I understand that I did not put in enough of myself into those relationships. At the time I thought I did but now I know I did not. There was always a fear in me that along the way, if I opened up it would be held against me.
I really like this stanza: Now we grow old, and we still hesitate and tarry, until love passes us by like the morning mists over a lake, at the break of dawn. Pretty.
