Bear spray vs guns.
Since I've been traveling cross country with my 6 lb Chihuahua . We made camp near Patagonia afew nights saw many caves and one cougar , not the two-legged type ,after that I bought bare spray I feel it's good protection against wild animals and humans you can't kill yourself with bear spray or anyone else , it's not as illegal in places like Mexico and I believe you stand a better chance of surviving a bear attack then with a gun.

If you shoot a Grizzly with a gun you better not miss
@Shadowfax . . . same for bear spray
. . . also, use a BIGGER caliber bullet. 
. . . also, gun control can mean confidence in hitting the target
