What did you do?
3 days at beach.
@Rose2U and how was it?
@Bigwavedave I just noticed my pic did not upload. There now. It was a relaxing time.
A lot of people are in that boat. I guess I am lucky in having several relationships gave me lots of time and experiences. I know how to do it alone but after my last partnership it's not so much fun.
Exactly. I can and have done plenty alone. Just not as fun.
@Rose2U : For me, a solo life lacks depth and meaning. Sharing times, places and experiences adds meaning to them.
Doing things solo was very hard for me the first year or more. Going places that were special to my wife and me brought back memories that made me very lonely and cry. But if I avoided those places then that meant that death stole those places from me as well as stole my wife from. me. I could not let death win! I had to take the places back by going there anyway and getting the ordeal over with. Now I can go there without crying and feeling hopeless.
@dare2dream I felt like that at the beach. It was our favorite place. I cried but felt closer to him there.
@Rose2U : I think our sadness never goes away but it gets buried in new experiences. I urge every widow and widower to go out and bury their sadness!
