I do the same. On Monday, it will be two months.
My wife's birthday was yesterday. We were together 36 years 4 months and 1 day. It eases but will never go away. Sometimes it seems a long time ago and sometimes just yesterday.
the waves of pain will always lap the shore but they diminish over time. i wish you as little grief as possible
So sad for you. I hope you have good friends around you today and that you don’t spend it alone. What about your family....are they nearby? I know it won’t do much to help how you feel today but if you fill your life with activity and friends it will ease the pain for future anniversaries. Time does lessen the pain in my experience and who knows what the future holds for you. You look pretty young to me in your wedding photo so are still a young woman now, it is possible you will find a new partner in time. Hugs from me for today. ?
@Jonado You misunderstood me, I said it is possible she may find a new partner in time. I didn't say in time for her first anniversary. I was just advising her not to spend any of the anniversaries on her own if she can avoid this....by being with friends. I though my message would be helpful and my meaning was clear.
@Jonado I’m sorry if you think my advice wasn’t good. I wasn’t giving it to you, and Doraz reacted positively to my remarks. I can only respect what you say and understand that in your case you don’t want anyone else. I also don’t want another partner but I have friends in the same position who do want to meet someone....we are all different. Sorry again if I touched a nerve with you.
@Jonado maybe, maybe not. After my girlfriend passed, the sense of loss and grief was overwhelming. I felt the need to reach out and try to initiate another relationship. To some it may seem disloyal, but, for myself I deemed it to be necessary.
@WayneDalton There are no rule books...we just have to go with what feels right for us,
