My husband's been gone 6 years. I've always felt lucky that we had such a wonderful marriage. Yesterday I cried for the first time in many years. For some reason I thought about him and then realized even though I could remember many of the things he said, I couldn't picture him. saying them. It was frightening and sad. In a way I felt like I was being uncaring and unfaithful.
Also I think of her and thank her every day for the time we had, over 36 years. Thankful for the little videos I took of her around the place and out walking the dogs. Her voice will always be with me. But, yes memories do fade, sometimes seems another lifetime.
That's happened to me, the first time it was my aunt I couldn't remember what she looked like I was horrified Auntie Dot was my soul mum. I think it's just the brain trying to soften the grief for us x
Not so,I am also having trouble remembering her voice?
