I have decided to embrace even the smallest pleasures in this life, partially to fill the gaping hole left by loss, but also, because all things are fleeting, eventually.
Currently, that equates with adding splashes of color where I can. That includes collecting assorted colors of depression glass, and the recent purchase of rainbow silverware: (all while savoring the subtle nuances of a good white tea)
Beautiful. I have a few pieces of depression glass. I especially love the green, as that is my favorite color.
Mine, too! I love the kind with uranium in it that glows.
Nice looking dishes. May they bring you pleasure and enjoyment. I like to use the china that I inherited from my MIL. it reminds me of two women that I loved and lost.
I set out to buy one of any pattern that I like, and then choose which to dine off of as the mood strikes me. (my cupboards are a mess of colors as a result). I felt drawn to colored glass while antiquing with friends. These colored dishes were often freebies that came with cereal, laundry soap, a gas fill up and were a way to cheer folks up when things were drab and dire in the 1930s (US). That makes them special somehow
