Oddly enough the days that I think will kill me (first anniversary of his death) pass without event. Then a few days later I felt like my world was falling apart all over again. Such unpredictable times and things.
Very unpredictable for sure. Today I cleaned out a "junk" drawer. I didn't intend to, sorta just happened. There were pictures from when we were first together. yeah, I teared up.
Lovely picture of your sweet Annette. I hope your sadness passes soon.
My belated condolences,I experienced a similar loss last year. The only thing I can say is that hopefully the pain will ease for both of us.
And for all of us. Good to have you back Wayne. I was a little concerned but I have my days of not getting on here. Or doing much of anything. Damned weather
Thank you for all your comments. The day was not as much a downer as I had anticipated. I am moving on with my life and enjoying it. You just do not forger or really get over 36 years of being with somebody. Especially since she taught me so much about being a feeling human being. I am so much more a real person thanks to her. Doing things I never could imagine doing. Me, an atheist, president of my UU fellowship!!! We move on regardless or we die internally.
Personally I have found the anniversaries less difficult over time. I can't guarantee this will be true for you, but for me a lot of it is habituation and an excuse to not let go. Regardless of whether you concentrate your feelings or spread them out, they have to be processed and integrated, and there's no way I know of to render it painless. Best to you in your journey through this unasked-for and unwelcome path.
Lovely picture. Remember the good times you had, and try not to be too sad....we empathise with you. ?
