Well just discovered I can do a search of artists/songs, so I can say happily that this artist has not been posted here (and if it has my search function is broken)
So here is Soper Aeternus with "in der palastra"
An acquired taste Iād say, not immediate rapport with it on first hearing. It is interesting to be introduced to this German musical artiste though.
Yeah, first time hearing her I don't think anybody gets an immediate rapport with her, I've been listening to her for a while now and im still not shure what to think, but she is definitely slowly grown on me.
Oh my gosh this is so different. My mind wonders Garf at what influences lead you to such a taste and knowledge of where to find it. The incredible diversity of musical expression. Sorry but I really have no idea what I feel about it. I had a feeling from the video of Metropolis.
I wonder what influences me to, don't you worry.
I'll give anything a listen as long as it's not techno music, I can't stand techno.
I didn't know what to think of the song when I first heard it, now I think it's about her struggle with her own identity, and it fascinates me..
she is an artist that has slowly grown on me.
Lol, Metropolis, yes like that connection. My thought was of Kurt Weill and late 1920's German cabaret.
@FrayedBear Youāre on the the right track...itās German neo-classical dark wave (official classification).
I'm a bit slow, but my first thought when Metropolis was mentioned, I just took it as a reference to a city setting...
I now know that's not the case.
The things you learn eh?
@Garf Sorry. I did wonder that but I was brought up on the movie. Before I was 13 I may have seen less than 20 movies and Metropolis was one. The horrific one about the steps of Odessa was another.
@rogerbenham, don't be sorry, I should of clicked on faster, I would like to see both those movies, but finding time to do so now is hard, because work has really picked up
@Garf Battleship Potemkin I think was the name of the other. These are silents from the '20's.
