Today we’re visiting the Maritime Provinces of Eastern Canada…home to the Acadian people…descendants of the French migrants who settled here in the early 18th century…they’re closely related to the Cajun communities in Louisiana, as many of the original French settlers migrated south from Acadia and stayed put. You can hear some similarities in the music to that of Cajun, but also clearly the Celtic influence of Breton and Scots music too. - Vishten…in concert.
