Does anyone remember Englebert Humperdinck, the British singer who had no success under his own name…Gerry Dorsey, but when he took the name of a 19th century classical German composer his career took off with a string of hits in the 1960s & 70s. One of his biggest hits was The Last Waltz in 1967…I’m not posting, it but instead a French cover version by Mirielle Mattieu who was a big French star at the time. - La Derniere Valse…
Si that, and raise
…..of course, but being me and one-track-minded, I’m reminded that all steps lead to Rome…
Professionally produced. Did not know it. Remember his name, not what he did.
I recall listening to Please Release Me, as a very young boy on the radio,
You’re making me feel very old…I was much older when he sang it! 🥲
@Marionville Sorry, but not "much" older
I sing his "After The Lovin'" at karaoke and beforehand ask a bald guy can I stroke his head during the "I brush back the hair from your eyes" part........fun for all!!!!!
I’d love to see that!
I remember the "Hump" as we referred to him back at the time. He wasn't bad looking, and had a pretty nice voice. He did the Last Waltz song beautifully.
This French lady has a very pretty voice. I can't understand a word, but love the French language. 🥰
Yes…who cares when it sounds great!
