Bix Beiderbecke is a legendary figure in jazz circles, an early pioneer of Amercan jazz. along with other jazz soloists Louis Armstrong & Muggsy Spanier he helped to popularise the idiom in the 1920s. He was born in Iowa in 1903 and taught himself to play the cornet largely by ear and demonstrated a remarkable gift for innovation and purity of tone. In 1928 he recorded Rhythm King which here is teamed with one of the earliest animated Disney Micky Mouse Cartoons, the third one in fact and the one which introduced Minnie Mouse to the world. - Steamboat Willie…
