We had a version of this song posted by Roger yesterday…it’s one I have been singing since I was young and is based on an old 18th century Scottish tune called “The Braes of Balquidder”. It’s sometimes called “The Wild Mountain Thyme” and at others “Will Ye Go Lassie, Go”. Here’s a version I like by Scottish folk duo The Corries….

Certainly a favourite in most British folk clubs in the 1960's & 70's.
