As a follow-up to yesterday’s post highlighting the Roman legacy in Europe of various historic sites and amphitheatres, today I’m posting this short docu video of Croatian cellists Stjepan Hauser & Luka Sulik who perform as 2Cellos. Stjepan was born in Pula which was a city in Roman times and there are many reminders of that in modern Pula today…not least is the almost intact Pula amphitheatre. Stjepan will explain better about his city and you’ll see them rehearsing in the amphitheatre. I am also adding in their cover of Coldplay’s Viva La Vida…performed live at the concert in Pula…
I so enjoyed this post Marje. I subscribe to these guys on YouTube so I listen to them a lot. You know how much I love string instruments, and the 2 Cellos are fabulous!!
I especially enjoyed the top video with them talking about how they got started.
Great videos! These guys are the ones to make me appreciate the cello.
I much preferred the 2nd piece
The first video was really a documentary about them, filmed at Pula before and during the concert. The second one was one piece which I selected from the concert because I like the song.
@Marionville I did vwatch the 1st piece though I found it too long.
