In 1984, a year before they became famous with their song Take On Me, when it became a worldwide hit…a-ha performing an early version of the song for the first time on Norwegian TV. after a short interview with the presenter in Norwegian where she asks them if they think they’re going to become successful pop stars…they’re full of confidence and answer “Yes”!
That was 40 years ago now, and it’s interesting to note that the song released in 1985 with the iconic video currently has 1.9 billion views on YouTube and is expected to hit the 2 billion mark before the end of this year…so I guess their confidence wasn’t misplaced!
It was an excellent introduction to them. This song was long ago added to the Dance Dance Revolution playlist that I still use regularly so I've danced to it hundreds of times (maybe more) and yet it's still so catchy that we don't skip it. I just danced to it this morning, in fact.
It’s still catchy and still sounds great today…it’s timeless!
