A few years ago the BBC made a documentary about the internationally renowned Greek mega-star, singer Nana Mouskouri who sang in a dozen different languages in a most beautiful and distinctive voice and whom during the span of her career from the 1960s on, released 200 albums selling over 300 million copies. Now retired and aged 89 she lives in Switzerland with her second husband. I’m posting that BBC video which is about an hour long, but first I’m including her performing the song she is most probably best known for - The White Rose of Athens.

She was quite a favourite of mine at one time…I heard her sing live in Belfast…she was amazing!
