We’re featuring music from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia today…with Natalie Macmaster who is fiddling in the Cape Breton tradition. The original settlers in this part of Canada were French mariners from Brittany in France and then later the Scots arrived and brought with them their music and dance and incorporated it with the French tradition into a style of music & dance distinct to Cape Breton. Natalie and her musical partner Donnell Leahy play a few tunes in the Cape Breton tradition at Monterey Music Festival, California.
