We learned a wide variety of classical, folk, and traditional songs from around the world in our music classes in Primary School, not just from Scotland and around the British Isles. It was my earliest groundings for my lifelong love of all types of music. One of the American traditional songs I loved singing was Shenandoah…and I’ve found a version which one of my favourite singers Sissel Kyrkjebo (Norway) sings accompanied by musicians Paddy Moloney (Ireland) and Kalle Moraeus (Sweden)….now what could be more international than that!
