Thank you for sharing this lovely image, which appears very similar to Rogelio Bernal Andreo's mosaicked (stitched) imagery of the entire Orion constellation, the result of 490 hours of integration time.

Yup, that's pretty much the entire constellation in that picture. A whole lot of hydrogen (the red gas). You can just see the horsehead nebula below the left star of the belt as a tiny dark projection into the pink nebula.
That's why I really liked the picture. The nebulas and everything being in it. But for some reason I don't recall the white form to the right of Rigel?
@Hathacat IC 2118 the Witch Head nebula. It's really a faint nebula so it would take a large scope to visually see it It has been reportedly seen in medium sized scopes with a narrow band filter. Some even say they can see part of it in 10X50 binos with filters. ya gotta be under a really dark sky for that.
@starwatcher-al Thanks! I didn't recognize it, and I have seen pictures of it before!

Posted by starwatcher-alI missed the early phases of the eclipse but the clouds mostly left during totality. All in all a great eclipse. Next one is Nov. 8-22
