So will famotidine help alleviate C19 symptoms or is it another snake oil remedy?

This article cites some ongoing research:

Probably have some effect on upset stomachs, etc, since it IS a histamine-2 blocker but alleviating Covid symptoms I'd say No and a bloody dangerous way to go as well imo.
Maybe someone could convince Humpty Dumpty Trumpty to try them plus suggest adding a touch of Zyklon B to the mix for good measure?
That would help alleviate the troubles of the world and the U.S. would it not?

Histamine blockers are used to block/retard/alleviate the actions and symptoms associated with Allergic Reactions, over production of Histamines, etc, etc.
S.O.P. in medicine is usually,
A) Find the cause of the problem then start treating the cause,
B) Alleviate the symptoms whilst treating the problem AND the cause at the same time.
Like most viral infections, i.e. Influenza, Common Cold, SARS, Covid, etc, etc, and the like, the symptoms MAY seem the same to the Layman but in relatility they are not.
And until Scientists/Researchers find the actual nucleitides that allow these virus to do what they then we are merely treating the symptoms only.

Famotodine according my local Terry White chemists is rarely supplied and requires a doctor's prescription. In the USA it appears to be as available as aspirin. Obviously the main manufacturers don't grease enough Australian palms!
