This is what occurs if kept in a constant state of anxiety for 2 years. FFS we haven't even really seen the pandemic hit here yet ie what happens when it does? Our medical services are obviously not up to scratch yet we have had over a year to prepare.
My experience in drilling and mining is you can work a maximum of 14 hrs with any more requiring written permission to a maximum of 16 hours. This is safety because fatigue kills, ask any policeman who have had to scrape people off of roads because they fell asleep will tell you. Studies say more dangerous than being drunk. I can assure you, if an incident happened and it came out those involved had been working over 14 hours, insurance would happily wipe their hands of any liability.
So these managers making these people work these long hours are acting illegally. And it does put people in their care at risk. They should be prosecuted.
And if this started happening and our medical system collapses, then the blame will be easy to direct. Those bloody people who do not consent to a vaccination program that will never achieve herd immunity with the medicines available.

Aha, so @Triphid is back! Still hiding behind his block. Has he come out to support NSW's abysmal efforts to control spread of the disease?
Perhaps if citizens refused to accept the practice of blind acceptance of failed democracy, politicians & political parties by demanding en masse revision of Australian government & governance then change could be achieved.
I recently saw a doctor talking twaddle. When it was stated that he had had C19 my first thought was "aha, long covid. My second thought was how many has he additionally killed over & above his usual probable arrogant incompetence?"
"Haven't even really seen the pandemic," who are you trying to kid?
Please wake up and smell the coffee, we've been copping since it first hit our shores, Yes, not as bad as everywhere and everyone else, thankfully, but we've still been copping it.
Btw, No-one is FORCING Health Workers, etc, to work long and extended hours, they usually do it out of COMMON Human Decency, Care and a sense of Community Spirit.
Also, for your information, Police Officer DO NOT " SCRAPE people/bodies off of roads" they leave that grizzly task to Ambos mainly when it comes to road deaths or the Representatives of the Coroner in some case.
When it comes to picking up the bits and pieces AFTER an idiot has played chicken with a train, the grizzly job comes down to the Derailment/Accident/Mechanical Failure Crew AND when a 1,500 tonnes Freight Train doing between 90 and 110 kilometres per hour hit a human body, in or out of a motor vehicle, chances are you WILL NOT be picking up WHOLE bodies, you WILL be collecting a kinds of bits and pieces both external body parts and internal SPREAD everywhere and anywhere.
@powder "After 12 hour shifts on rigs they won't let you drive until you've had 8 hours off first," which Utopian world does happen in may I ask?
Miners out here work 12 hours shifts, 10 days on, 4 days off and drive home from work AFTER every shift.
I worked for 12 years on the State Rail Authority of N.S.W. normally did 8 hour shifts, but often did anywhere between 12 and 16 hours + in Emergency situations like derailments, collisions between cars, etc, and trains, etc, etc.
We'd finish working on the emergency, pack up, drive the truck back to our Depot, change clothes and drive back home.
Prospecting Rigs workers out here, usually and normally in the middle of Nowhere btw, work 14 hour shifts, 12 days on and with 6 off, they DRIVE to and from the Rigs, often distances anywhere between 200 and 400 kilometres at a minimum and catch up their sleep AFTER they get to their homes.
As to "no waves, just ripples," have you ever considered that this may well be due to the distance isolation of Australia compared to the rest of the world and YES, we have been fortunate thus far BUT how far can our luck be stretched?
Btw, the STANDARD Air Circulation/Conditioning systems in 99% of these so-caled "Quarantine Hotels" is by NO means CONDUCIVE to maintaining Aseptic, Non-Transference Conditions required by International Quarantine Protocols. since,
A) the air from each room and each floor is recirculated at a ratio of approx. 55%- 60% each hour with fresh air being added as required, the are NO filtration systems, such as Hepa-filters fitted to the vents in each room or the systems themselves,
B) the have been cases, many of them in fact, of person under quarantine in these hotels inter-mingling with each other, a BIG NO-NO under International Quarantine Protocols, and last but by no means least,
C) NO aseptic techniques are employed by those manning these Quarantine Hotels, etc, etc, just masks and gloves, technically speaking, they should be made to wear disposable Forensic style cover-all suits, full face masks, be double gloved and made to go through decontamination washes regularly both whilst on the job, before commencing a shift and after finishing the shift and BEFORE going home or wherever else they may choose to go.
