Good on France. Rather than make a new Tri-Axis (They have always been successful in the past) Australia should do the same.
The UK and US don't care about Australians, they just want a staging platform for the Indo-Pacific. And Morrison/ Dutton don't care about Australia/ Australians, they just want to be in with the Big English speaking white bully boy's club, a pathetic hanger on. They agree to a foreign nation establishing a military presence here. To going nuclear militarily. Indonesia don't like it and dare say NZ are not impressed, both left out the loop. Pissed off many for what?
If this had to happen, why not set a condition "OK, we'll buy your subs on the condition Julian Assange is set free?".

The public have known since 1996 the lack of Australian honour in maintaining agreements that it has sworn to uphold. They are simply a duplicitous hypocritical people!

In 1996 at the death of the Keating government the Liberal's Downer with the connivance of Labor's Gareth Evans Evans proposed change to the Administrative Services Act that Australia legally codify its duplicitous behaviour regarding all International Agreements that it has covenented to uphold but not codified into Australian law be invalid & not upheld. These included a raft of agreements from standardised weights & measures through to all the human rights agreements.

That this was not wifely reported is yet again due to the failure of the Australian media.

Only 2 people called the Australian parliament out on its hypocrisy. One was Elizabeth Evatt at that time a judge on the UN Human Rights Court.
