I fear the ALP will go to the Right again. Ooh, their big policy agenda was too scary for people. Wrong! It was too wishy washy, as you'd expect from the Hawkian mob that still runs the ALP.

30 years of losing elections, mostly, so maybe that pretend centre right strategy isn't working out. Ya think?!

Go left ALP. Stand for something and take people with you. Neo liberalism is dead. Only Paul Keating still believes it. Paul Who?

Neo liberalism gained a strangle hole on the Australian economy via the policies of the Hawke/Keating government in 1983. The Prices and Income Accord with the government and ACTU was meant to restrict industrial action in return for a Social Wage. It led to erosion of wages and conditions. The ACTU sold out workers rights. And workers deserted unions in droves. Resulting in the decimation of unions. Deregulation of banks and selling of the Commonwealth Bank opened up the door to global rentier capitalism to gain full control of the economy. Neo liberalismis alive and still kicking shit out of us. Both sides of the duopoly are thoroughly imbued with neo liberal psyche.
