Well, laugh if you wish, but yesterday I sent an e-mail to Prime Minister Morriscum re- his plan to put Chaplains into our Public Schools stating my objections ( non aggressively and in plain terms).
I mentioned that Australia, on the whole, IS a Secular Nation and that religious instruction, etc, belongs ONLY in Churches, Religious homes and School operated by Religious Orders BUT not in our Public Schools where we, as parents, expect our children to learn about the Sciences, Facts, Truths and matters that have and can be PROVEN and the mere Supposition, Innuendos Superstitions, etc, upon which religions are based and cannot be proven empirically.
I also stated that for our children to grow, live and succeed in this modern world they need NOT the 'counsel' of religious Chaplains BUT that given by properly Trained and recognized and Accredited Youth Counsellors.
I also posed the question to him that, " How can he assure the parents 100% that these Chaplains WILL NOT repeat the utter horrors inflicted upon those whom we all recently heard who were victims, and those who still live in fear of repercussions, of the Institutionalized Child Abuses during the recent Inquiry and Trials, etc."
24 hours have passed and yet NO response/reply so I am begging that those of us out there who are concerned, as I am, do the same IF you truly care about the children in our Public Schools.
