Australia's outspoken journalist Shane Dowling shares a Guardian Australia report on fbuk with the following introduction:

"Here we go. A nutter preaching to all Australians:

"Scott Morrison calls for ‘more love’ as he prays for Australia at Hillsong conference."

How about praying for honesty in politics?" Shane Dowling Kangaroo Court of Australia Facebook 10/07/2019

Well we ALL know that PRAYER does absolutely NOTHING truly tangible or effective except waste mental effort, waste oxygen and time, fill the Church Coffers by Tithes and the Collection Plate and give those praying a false sense of 'doing something good.'
Just looking at unabashed Opulence depicted in and by the article/photo, etc, it turns my stomach to see that so much money has been wasted where it could and SHOULD have been out to better usages such as relieving Poverty, Suffering, Child Exploitation, Homelessness, Hunger and a myriad of other ills affecting our Human Race and the world at large.

Hilllsong, Australia’s illustrious leader- opening convention address - What the fuck!

On the brighter side, 30,000 people from around the world. That’s less than half the gate for Collingwood vs Carlton, around the same as my EPL team Southampton I’d guess, not to mention way below the Boxing Day test!

Not quite the appeal many Christians might think, thankfully. At least the bible indoctrinated imbecile is not addressing 30,000 Australians!

Hillside is situate at Carlingford, Sydney.

@FrayedBear There was a brief item on 7 News about it showing a bit of his praying session and address. They then did the one shot thing they do of talking to Joe Public with several people who had ‘flown in’ from far flung places such as Brazil and Nigeria for the event!

They quoted 30,000 people as if it were some great achievement so I thought I’d put the numbers in context.

@FrayedBear Sorry what I meant was the congregation didn’t consist of all Australians. Now I read it back I see the way it could be interpreted

@Geoffrey51 Good unbiased Australian journalism.

@Geoffrey51 I would suspect that many of the fly ins could be Australian. The Australian Diaspora used to be over one million people - 300,000+ I understand to be Greeks retired to Greece.
