Beautiful, sunny, goldfinches brightening up a dreary spring.

I saw my first, lifer, red-headed woodpecker a few weeks ago. Thursday, I was fortunate enough to see three more at the same location (but I was only able to photograph two of them).

I've had some trouble posting photos from my phone lately so here are some more from Thursday. This is a very tolerant male downy woodpecker.

No one is challenging this guy for the peanut feeder.

I have a lot of these visit my backyard and birdbath. I also have plenty of chickadees, finches, blue jays, and unfortunately CROWS.

The baby killdeer have survived several soccer practices, at least one field mowing, a couple of thunderstorms, and whatever goes bump in the night. It won't be long before they're able to fly!

Last one for the night. The scarlet tanagers are back in town. And Archer is curious about the camera. So if things look a little blurry, well.....
