Took me a minute to get your post. Then I thought that if I were there I would be doing a little more than that. The whales would want me out of the water and back in my s--ty canoe. I know it is not a canoe but I forgot what they are called.

@Hathacat yes, just for note. I have been in several canoes but not a kayak.
@dalefvictor I don't think I have either. Not likely to now, lol.
@Hathacat I live about 300 yards from the Columbia River about a mile from the megler bridge, 4.1 miles long. Really like being near the water but not in or on it. The mouth of the River is known as the Grave yard of the Pacific.
